To improve resilience, operational sustainability, energy efficiency and the costs associated with the construction and operation of a 650 cabinet, 4MW data centre. To work through the project brief, design and strategic project objectives with a view to provide alternative solutions and improvements.
THE FUTURE-TECH SOLUTION
Future-tech worked in accordance with the Uptime Institute and EN50600 standards to provide an unbiased appraisal of the design which had been completed by a third party design consultancy.
Future-tech’s amended design removed single points of failure, increased energy efficiency throughout the facility, most markedly in the cooling infrastructure, and reduced construction costs by 8-12%.
The revised design solution provided the client with a different selection of Air Handling Plant, Transformers and Generators, which all contributed to lower construction cost, greater operational resilience and improved energy efficiency.
Future-tech introduced a mixture of traditional and leading edge technical solutions together with an innovative design philosophy.
Engineer Sales Director
“It was great to engage with the project while it was still in the design phase. This meant our recommendations could be accommodated easily and without affecting programme. The traditional, non-specialist, building services design consultancy was open to our ideas and specialist data centre knowledge. The two teams worked in a collaborative way and the project was a resounding success.”
