Future-tech’s Design Director and Senior Electrical Engineer, Karl Luck, has been offered and accepted the role of the Vice Chair of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) Profession Development Operations Committee (PDOC).

Karl is both a Fellow of the IET (FIET) and a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and has several volunteer roles with the IET supporting engineers in their career development and along the path to professional registration. He has also been involved with the accreditation of companies’ graduate training schemes for many years and has been a member of the PDOC on two previous occasions, each for three-year terms.

Karl has now accepted the role of Vice Chair of the PDOC from November 2021. This will then develop in taking over as Chair from November 2023 through 2025. This is a significant commitment but goes to demonstrate his enthusiasm for assisting engineers in their career development and to the engineering profession as a whole. As an engineering led organisation Future-tech is very proud of Karl’s dedication in this area and is very happy to support Karl, the IET and the ongoing development of engineering as a profession.

The IET is one of the world’s largest engineering institutions with more than 155,000 engineering and technology professionals in 148 countries.
