Data Centre Success with The Universities of Hertfordshire and Brighton

On Monday the 10th of May Richard Stern and Steve Phipps from the University of Hertfordshire and Geoff Fayers from the University of Brighton gave two thirty minutes presentations on their recent Data Centre Tenders.

Richard and Steve took delegates on a journey through their process covering topics such as; how a design and build solution was the best for them, how they created their Invitation to Tender and in turn their Pre-qualification Questionnaire, what the potential risks and physical constraints were of the project, what problems might have been encountered along the way, their outcomes and goals, and the lessons they learned looking back with hind sight.

This informative presentation was enjoyed by the delegates as well as Steve and Richard. An opportunity for questions from delegates at the end of the presentation brought up some interesting points that really demonstrated the advanced skill set possessed by many in the room.
The University of Hertfordshire’s project is due to be completed at the end of June when there will be an opportunity to read Future-techs case study.

Geoff Frayers from the University of Brighton concentrated on the technical specification within his tender and how, by using Probrand, he was able to speed the whole process along and stay within the tight time constraints set for the project.
