Audit and appraisal of 5 sites totalling 30MW – Western and Central European locations
THE BRIEF
To provide technical appraisal of a number of data centre facilities across a number of European locations. The appraisal had to address potential commercialisation of the data centres and their suitability in terms of the accommodation of IT equipment now and over the next 8 years. Assessing the resilience of the data centres, and their ability to achieve market expected uptime, energy efficiency in relation to the competitor facilities in each location and expected standards.
Findings to be presented in a report with high level “red flag” summary for investors.

THE FUTURE-TECH SOLUTION
Future-tech provided assessments of both the physically facilities and their associated O&M information. Short falls were highlighted in the data centres’ ability to support higher density equipment and support IT systems in the future. Further points were raised concerning electrical resilience, single points of failure, Tier level, ageing infrastructure and data centre design irregularities, all of which affected the commercialisation of the facilities, cost associated with bringing the facilities in line with market expected specifications and, ultimately, the value of the business as a whole.
Further assessments were made regarding data centre energy efficiency and operational overhead in line with current competitors and new competitors who were planning to establish themselves in the specific cities.
A technical due diligence report was submitted together with a power point presentation providing key points for data centre investors.
