Future-Tech hold EU Code of Conduct for Data Centre Energy Efficiency Workshops

In March 2009 Future-Tech were one of the first companies to be awarded Endorser Status for the European Code of Conduct for Data Centre Energy Efficiency. Endorsers are expected to promote the best practice principles set out in the Code and encourage data centre owners and operators to adopt them.

To show their commitment to the Code, its best practice principles and the benefits they bring to organisations, Future-Tech have created a workshop that gives delegates an understanding of how the best practices relate to their own data centre, at the same time completing the application forms. This dual focus means delegates leave the workshop ready to submit their application.

Future-Tech’s Frank Wilman said “ The code has some excellent ideas for reducing the running costs of data centres. It also gives organisations a strategy for improvement of their installation and prioritising any changes. From an industry perspective it will, in time, give some solid figures relating to data centre power consumption and hopefully reduce the demonization of data centres as inefficient power hungry installations. Currently any figures that are reported regarding European data centre power use are pure speculation and this needs to change. Data centres are here to stay”.
